The Church would prefer you not to post Church videos on YouTube. We are digitizing several videos now and have a plan for posting them on LDS.org, Google Videos, YouTube, and other places.

What is the Church's position on members posting church intellectual property on youtube?

Would the church issue a DMCA takedown on someone who posted Testaments? If one looks at fair use (not hacker defined fair use, US Copyright fair use, see here: http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html) it could allow for such a posting if the purpose and character of the use is to bear testimony and is done in an obviously non-profit way.

The nature of the work would lead toward this kind of use, and it is not like the church makes video's such as finding faith in Christ, and testaments solely to get gain, but to lead people to Christ and the gospel.

I would love to see this happen, in fact the more online church stuff the better. Will there ever be a day where say for instance a sunday school class has a blog where they can get more resources on the lessons. Like maybe additional talks or related media. Anyway the steps the church is taking is great and I hope it continues.
