Public Affairs already has a channel on YouTube (see http://www.ldswebguy.com/2007/10/06/church-newsroom-videos-now-on-youtube/). We are also working toward a channel with general Church videos.

I think the LDS.org website is a great resource for viewing videos. I especially enjoy the Gen. Conf. videos.

Has the IT dept ever discussed the idea of creating a channel on YouTube to post LDS videos? This would open up a new missionary path on the Internet. It would also allow members to post videos on their blogs.

It's interesting to see where we've come over the last couple of years. I can still remember the day when the internet first came to be and only business men and the higher ups jumped on the bandwagon. And now -- it's unusual for a household to not have the internet, even moreso, high speed internet!

Personally, I am a frequent viewer of online content, especially the kind that are inspired and produced by regular people just like me. I feel it's because it's easier to relate to these producers and more times than not, these productions aren't rehearsed. Real and unplugged!

For anyone who's looking to create their own videos online, I recommend checking out kyte.tv and creating a channel on there! It's a great site that allows anyone to create a channel and produce multiple shows on that channel [users can have multiple channels too!]. Features to create a show include webcam, audio, text, links, photo slideshow, and more. After a show is produced, viewers can instantly watch the show and leave comments and feedback on the channel! [just like instant messenger!]. In addition, a kyte application can be downloaded onto your cell phone [check the list of phones to see if yours can support the application!] and create shows on-the-go!

Go check out kyte.tv and start creating your videos! I've already started my own channel where I produce video blogs! :) http://kyte.tv
