I was researching a Gospel topic online yesterday when I found a website with part of the answer. The site looked a lot like a More Good site and the response was correct until it twisted the truth in the end. I know that LDS.org always has approved content but with the increasing presence of pro and anti information it is becoming difficult to identify the truth online. Do you have any ideas on how we can better distinguish between the good and the bad online?
Church sites will alway have the Church logo and state they are an official site of the Church. With any other site, buyer beware!
Kevin: I think this underscores the importance of more members getting involved online. How will a seeker know which sites to trust? But if you get involved, you can help them find something positive.
I have seen a huge increase of member blogs in the past few months, especially since Elder Ballard’s remarks at BYU Hawaii in December.
I have not seen a corresponding increase in anti-sites but they are becomming more shrill and as Kevin pointed out above, more insideous.
