Mormon Magz reports that the New Era has posted comments from youth on general conference. It is inspiring to see how well these addresses can connect to youth and how deeply the youth can feel about the doctrines of the gospel. Their spontaneous reactions to the conference addresses show a simple and growing understanding of and faith in the Lord and His servants.

Have you checked out some of the recent online offerings from the New Era?

• The New Era has posted a video promoting its October issue, which is a special issue on the pamphlet For the Strength of Youth. Check out the video, and get a glimpse of this special issue.
•  The New Era home page has downloadable MP3 recordings of the song “Steadfast and Immovable” whose sheet music appears in the October issue.
• The New Era is also conducting an online survey on dating with questions like “In your opinion, what is the difference between dating and hanging out?” and “In your opinion, what makes somebody a ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’?” Come on, teens, voice your opinions!

The LDS Church magazines are begining to post galleries of images to enhance articles in the Liahona, Ensign, New Era, and the Friend.

• The New Era has posted a gallery of photos from the article “From Generation to Generation“ in the September issue. The article centers on two teenage members of a family in Guatemala. They tell the story of a hard-working family trying to pass along important life skills to the next generation.
• The Friend’s Web site has posted a slideshow of “Our Creative Friends” drawings from the September issue.
• You can always find the gallery of Mormonads from the New Era organized by topic.
• And the Friend coloring pages are also online by topic.

The purpose of Mormon Magzs is to encourage people to read the magazines by helping them see how the Church magazines are fulfilling their mission to “help individuals and families stay closer to the Lord” and “help build…testimony and offer aid in coping with the problems of the world.”

Mormon Magz is not an official blog of the Church. Its founder began the blog to help “counter some of the misperceptions about the magazines among those in the online chattering class who seem to seldom actually read them. As the First Presidency promised in 1971, the magazines ‘can be a great influence for good if you will read [them]‘ (emphasis added).”

The New Era has posted an online version of the Pearl of Great Price Sudoku puzzle from the July issue. Instead of numbers, this puzzle uses words from Moses 1:39. When you finish the puzzle, you’ll probably know that scripture pretty well if you don’t already.

This is intended to be something fun for kids or teens, but regardless of your age, you may find yourself determined to solve it once you’ve started.
